Me at the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam, a dream come true!

A unique perspective and experience of the world!

I have always been an outlier and continuously described as overly sensitive, passionate, and “quirky” throughout my life.

In 2022, while conducting my PhD dissertation research, I discovered that I am neurodivergent, which radically changed my life! At 55 years old, I was diagnosed as autistic with ADHD and dyscalculia (number dyslexia), and suddenly my entire life made sense.

Turns out a lifetime of creating art and research are directly tied to my neurology.

One of the primary purposes of my site and content is to transparently and constructively share my experiences of my neurodivergence in all its glory and awkwardness. I want to help breakdown the stigmas attached to autism and help other neurodivergent folks understand themselves better too.

Where I volunteer…

  • Access Gallery & Studio

Access Gallery is an inclusive nonprofit organization that engages the community by opening doors to creative, educational and economic opportunities for people with disabilities to access, experience and benefit from the arts.

People with disabilities experience a 70% unemployment rate. Artists with disabilities are no exception and often face barriers to accessing training and career opportunities. Lack of economic opportunities is often a larger challenge than the actual disability.

We serve aspiring artists who are serious about their art and are ready to commit to a career in the arts. The majority of our artists have a developmental or intellectual disability.

I assist the artists and staff at the studio.

  • Colorado Neurodivergent Chamber of Commerce

The Colorado Neurodiversity Chamber of Commerce (CNDCC) – a registered 501(c)(6) Non-Charitable Membership organization, passionately committed to fostering neurodivergent representation.

Our mission is to provide strategies and opportunities to optimize business growth by building an authentically diverse and equality-based workplace, while helping to further opportunities for neurodivergent individuals to excel in the workforce, business, and leadership.

I am a volunteer ambassador for the CNDCC.
